Keep it ICE‑COLD• As soon as you open the bag, keep the shad on ice or in an ice slush (ice + a little water).• Don’t let the bait sit in warm water or direct sun.2. Only Open What You Need• If you bought multiple bags, only open one at a time.• Once a bag is opened, it should be treated like fresh bait and kept cold until it’s used.3. Seal It Back Up Tight• Push out as much air as you can and re‑seal the bag (zip‑top or clip).• If you have a small container with a lid, you can move the bait into that and keep it on ice.4. Short‑Term Storage (Same Day / Overnight)• Keep the sealed bag or container on ice in a cooler or in the refrigerator.• Use opened shad within 24–48 hours for best quality.5. Don’t Let It Get Warm – Then Re‑Cool• Repeatedly warming up and cooling down will make the bait soft and bloody.• Once it warms up, plan to use it or toss it.6.
